Not exactly recommended to work with heavy leather but it had helped us a lot to work with suedes, and thinner pig and goat skins. Also we have used to sew thin 3/4 oz nat veg cow leather. This Sears Kenmore sewing machine is in absolutely perfect condition with no flaws of any kind! It is model 158-17300 manufactured in 1975 and is a zig zag machine, made in Japan of cast metal construction. The machine features straight and zig zag stitching plus 8 built in stitches and 10 drop in cams for pretty decorative stitching. The 1 amp motor was built in Japan. This is a heavy duty machine that will easily sew leather and the thick seams of jeans plus the most filmy silks and light weight fabrics of all kinds and thin leather. The presser foot features the famous Kenmore "extra lift" for navigating extra thick fabrics. The double belt drive gives extra strength to this special sewing machine. This sale includes the original travel case, solid state foot control, owners manual printed and in pdf, button hole attachment, box of 10 decorative stitch drop in cams, and many other accessories (All in pictures) - The machine head is in it's original FLAWLESS paint with absolutely not a single scratch, chip, dent, ding or sign of use at all. Hi all! Last year I bought this Cobra Class 4 sewing machine new. Since then, I have used to sew prototypes of our leather handbags. We are now working with a patron maker and this machine was not getting used for the past 2 months. Since I am not finding any use for it I'd rather see it go to a new home. I have been the only person using it and it is LIKE NEW. It has been used very lightly for about 12 months, regularly oiled, and always kept indoors. I got the 4-P Premium package, including various accessories to go along with it. I will be also including several thread bobbins, needles, etc NEVER had an issue with it.
