do you apply conditioners before or after you dye the leather?
-
When you use conditioners, can you put a finish on over top afterwards? I will dampen and form all the bends with water first.
-
So I have no idea why this is happening, it was coated with waterstain and then acrylic resolene for the finish.I put a mild bend to it and it cracked and split. I really need some help with this please!!

Hello, I was wondering if any of you guys knew where you could get a bench top paring machine, seems like they are getting harder to find, so far I'm left with 2 options the german sharfexx and the across the pond alternatives, has anybody seen any others floating around?

wow what lovely work, your clearly a good teacher. I plan on dying the leather do you have any recommendations for that?, my only other concern is that the neatsfoot oil will darken the colors. what do you recommend?

Hello everyone, I was thinking of making a custom tooled horse halter, and I'm unsure what oz leather to use. I figured the thicker the better cause horse are obviously really strong animals. however I dont want the turned ends to crack when fold them over. Has anyone had success making some? Also my apologizes for the three threads under this title, I have no idea why it did that, I clicked submit once, it said error wait 7 seconds , so i did and clicked again. I'm not trying to spam

@megganpowell They are my favorite too, definitely a step up from using those powder based eco-flo dyes. When I use my oak leaf hides (which are very light) the colors turn out great, even turquoise after really working it into the piece, but the seafoam always seems to have a very muted result for some reason.

Hello everyone, I was reading leathercrafting101 and noticed for the tandy eco-flow waterstains they had a picture of several pieces of leather dyed and they were so vibrant especially the seafoam green and turquoise. Has anyone every been able to use these dyes and get that type of coloration as in the picture? please help http://blog.leathercraftlibrary.com/2015/05/12/leather-coloring-101/
