  1. Hi, just a short question about Abbey England and their solid brass buckles. A lot of you guys recommended Abbey due to their high quality and great range of products they offer. That's why I made my first order from them some months ago, and because they ship to non professional leatherworkers like me. Most of the things I received actually had a decent quality, heavy and solid brass, not highly polished, but that is absolutely fine for me. But most of the buckles I've ordern had a problem with their pin. They were misaligned in the part were they are bended around the outer buckle part. Don't know how to describe it exactly since english is not my native language, but I've added a picture. It was ok for me to practice making belts, but it's not the quality I would expect. Have you had similar problems with their buckles? Thanks for your answers!
  2. Thank you! Has anyone an idea how I could avoid those magnetic buttons on the tobacco sleeve? He wanted it as slim as possible so he can wear it in his back pocket of a jeans. But I don't like them, they look too clunky, but I have no other idea. A normal button is not practical to close, since the tobacco is very soft.
  3. Hi, my name is Mario, and I'm from the south of germany I started leatherworking about a year ago. I made a 3 day basic course to learn sewing, cutting and other things to start with. I practiced a lot at home during the last year (but not nearly as much as I would love to...) , particularly sewing and edge finishing. I try to practice with my own patterns, so I do not buy any patterns or so. This resulted in a lot of useless things as you can imagine I learned a lot through browsing and reading here on leatherworker.net, so I'd thought it is time now to register here and become part of this lovely community. I hope to learn a lot more from all of you guys, and probably one day I can give some advices myself... Would love to connect with other leatherworkers from Germany aswell!! So feel free to contact me! And last but not least I would like to show you the latest projects I did. I hope the picture size is ok, I posted with my smartphone and had to reduce the sizes of them A wallet for myself, a tote bag for my girlfriend and a tobacco sleeve for my brother-in-law, do not hesitate to give me some critics!!
