  1. Hi everyone, So for my projects up to now, I've been applying my Eco Flo waterstain then applying super shene finish and the conditioning with fiebings aussie conditioner. I've found that my projects have still been stiff and wrinkle very easily. I've done a little research on the internet and seen that people have been saying that the leather should be conditioned before the finish is applied (in hindsight, it makes sense). All the posts I have seen, the people seem to be using oils to condition their leather before finishing. My question is, can I use the fiebings aussie conditioner in the same way? Applying it before the finish to make the leather softer and more flexible without wrinkling or cracking. Thanks in advance, Michael.
  2. Hi there, I've attached a photo of the back of some of my stitching. The front, I am happy with but the back seems to have stretched or rippled the leather as you can see in the photo. Have I been pulling the thread too hard to cause this? Any help on making it look neater would be appreciated. Thanks.

  4. I think I have some Resolene so might give that a go and leave it out in the rain to give it abit of a test. Cheers.
  5. Hi Matt, Yea, I would be tooling the leather. Thanks.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm wanting to make small veg tanned leather patches that can be stitched on things like denim jackets etc (just like the band sew on/stitch on patches you can get). My concern is if it's on any outer garments like a denim jacket, it may get rained on and I don't want any dyes to run or ruin the leather (or jacket for that matter!). I have been making a few wallets and, after dying the leather, i apply eco flo super shene and fiebings aussie conditioner. Would this be suitable? Cheers in advance, Michael
  7. Thanks for the advice. Before I made that card holder with the pen loop I was making things with a stitch groove and I always seemed to screw it up (I don't know if I was applying too much pressure when using it but the round corner always made it difficult for me) so when making that card holder I decided not to do one because I didn't want the groove to look shabby and ruin it overall.
  8. Cheers, I'll give it ago in the future. Is that veg tanned leather? I use veg tanned and I'm not sure if it is best to have a stitch groove or not.
  9. Thanks. Yea, it's a pen holder. To be honest, I borrowed the idea from someone I saw on Etsy. Hey, the thread is medium brown 1mm Ritza Tigre thread and I believe the spacing was 4mm.
