    Hi All!

So I've been sewing with a 20 year old Chandler machine, just making leather/canvas bags for fun, but I'm looking at building some knife sheaths and heavier items. I've run into issues with my Chandler not having the clearance on the foot to fit thicker projects and think an open arm is the way to go, but I'm overwhelmed with the choices. Price isn't really an issue, I just want to get a solid machine I can do anything on from chinks, leather bags, holster work... you name it. I don't have enough of an expertise to critically look at used machines locally or feel comfortable in buying one online. Any tips, nudges, suggestions on brands or models is much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm thinking of buying a hand crank sidewall stitcher from Robin Industries. I'd like to know if the sidewall sticher can be used as an insole stitcher? I don't think the other way around will work.

Hockeymender, how has your machine been working. I already have a shoe patcher, and it works as expected.

    @AndyMH

Hi Andy, did they ever get back to you about whether it's possible to modify the size of the lower arm to fit into a standard size sneaker?  I know it's been several years since your last input...but wondering what happened with your correspondence/experience with the machine.  I'd like to purchase one for similar purposes, and curious what you discovered on that front.  Any insight would be appreciated!

Hi, Meiel, if you want stitching sneaker shoes midsole sidewall, the best machine is another one, it stitching more smooth, attached a video for you.:

I just had to look .... I have to wonder if this extract above were translated back into Chinese whether it would make any more sense?? I think that the machinery and engineering may have many good points and benefits but without much understanding of the manual as far as the English language goes, I am quite hesitant in buying I am sorry to say.   Please take no offence Robin as that is not my intention, it it only to point out the importance of having clear communication with your customers. Your efforts in sales could be vastly improved with a better translation. I would be interested in the SP 168 sidewall stitching machine but I would like to see the manual first and what the costs for the transport would be to Brisbane in Australia. Regards Brian

The manual of this hand sewing machine is don't like Mobile Phone or TV, through the manual you can completely learn how to use,  it is a professional machine, in general, you need learn it from shoe repair training mechanism if don't use similar machine before.  our company will tell customer about  this before they buy,  if need more professional machine, we will recommend more better machine, like SP168, SP998 , but Due to price factors, more customer choose  the cheaper machine,  Unless the workload is large, then they choose expensive machine,  however, when they choose cheaper machine, they also want the machine work high efficiency like expensive machine, this is hard achieve for cheaper machine, anyway, you will get what you pay, we all understand this principle,

I am talking hockey skates, and I need to be able to sew new/different tongues into the skate. The toe cap is very hard plastic, and the skate needs to fit into the machine so the entire width of the tongue can be sewn to the end of the toe cap.

Do you have a picture that show the position you want sewing?

    Hello,

I need a skiving machine (bell skiver) for splitting wallets back, thinning pockets etc,. I need it so I can line a wallet, so I have to get it down to below 1mm. Here in Europe it seems common to do that. I would be using it for 2-3oz (1mm) goat, calf and veg-tan. Maximum 2mm thick.

My question is do I need a dual speed set-up? In other words, a constant knife speed and a variable feed wheel speed. The price difference can be almost twice.

I have heard some say that you need the blade running at high speeds, but I also need control. Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks! Adam

Chinese Leather Skving Machine......hope can help you :-)

Took the words right out of my mouth there Uwe ;)
220v or 380v is fine by me ( and most of us on the right side of the pond ), but , I'm thinking given that the major demographic of leatherworker.net is in the USA that it would need to be also available in 110v monophase 50/60 version , not many people have 380 3 phase at home.Is elastictrickery the same way up in OZ ?

In general, we custom-made 110V motors for US or Japan customers and need one week to do it

  11. It was a occasional opportunity to find this site, and i‘m very surprise that so many people were discussing our company's RC-32-2A sewing machine, and we had to admit that it was not a good machine for workmanship, but the quality is no problems,The reason why we do not accept paypal, because when some customers bought the machine, maybe they will not use or they think it is rough workmanship, so they may choose to paypal complaints, because the machine is very heavy, we can not accept the return, it will case us trouble, so we cann't accept paypal.
