Typical old Michigander that has loved the out of doors since I can remember. I've loved working with my hands all my life. Started working on farms in the Summer making hay and mowing yards when I was 10 so I had money for model rockets. During my High School years I worked on a dairy farm.

After High School I worked as a leather cutter in a glove factory. It didn't take long for me to learn inside repetitive work wasn't for me. So I learned on my own after work in my garage, and became a Auto Body Tech for almost 20 years. When the Insurance Companies started cutting pay hours, I then went into Construction for almost another 20 years.

The last few years was spent in the office doing CAD drawings and submittals until the bottom fell out of the construction business in 2008.

I'm now in the process of trying to get SSDI as I have a really bad back from several injuries over the years. Some job related, the worst is from a car accident.

After loosing my home and my wood shop and had to sell all my machinery, I now live in an apartment where I only have room enough for light hobbies like Model Rockets and Leather Crafting. I do some Wood Working still, though most of it is making forms for leather knife sheaths. I also do Knife Customizing, and would like to learn how to replace handles on knives.

On my 2nd marriage, now in the 18th year and we have a 14 year old boy. I have another son from a previous marriage that will be 38 this October.

I can no longer do much hunting due to my back, but I use to love walking for hours in the woods rabbit hunting, and fishing for Steelhead and Salmon. I also use to fish Large Mouth Bass and some small stream Trout Fishing. I still have all my fishing stuff, including rod tier, thread and various other supplies. Yes, I use to make my own fishing poles too.

There isn't much I have done, or at least tried to do in my lifetime. My back is failing me know so I am extremely limited on what I can do, and how long I can do it.

I look forward to seeing what you are all up to making and learning as much as I can from those that have been at it much longer than I. The last time I did any heavy Leather Crafting was in my Junior High years in shop class. I find Tandy Leather Craft Free Videos a big help in renewing my knowledge, and giving me new knowledge. I've been practicing on Leather Circles making Coasters, Patches for jackets for fellow Model Rocketeer's Clubs, and small stuff for myself and my family.
