Hello Everybody, I have been pretty quite lately, so I thought I would share a project I did for Christmas this last year. This is a wall hanging I did for a customer that features their ranch name and their brand is on the cows hip. It was a lot of fun to do - carving is my favorite thing to do so this project was a dream come true for me. I wish I could do a lot more of this stuff. Any way, hope you all enjoy it and have a great day!

I bound the edges with lamb, its soft and thin and easy to work with. And I stitched it on my Adler 205, actually the only sewing machine I have right now. And I used 207 thread on the top and 138 on the bottom. I would like to use finner thread, but only have to one machine so....got to work with what ya got. P.S. thank you for the complement! -

I cut the background out with a sharp exacto knife. If you use nice firm leather the knife burnishes the edges while you cut and you don't have to worry about it too much. -

That looks cool! What did you use for dye? The colors are really nice. -
Thanks! I don't know yet. I have to get a bunch of equipment so...I'll just see what I can find. Carving is probably my favortie thing to do and saddles are the main stay of my business at this time. But boots are fun to make too.

Hi, My name is Clair Mullin and I am new to this website so I thought I'd introduce myself. I did post some of my work in the "show off" place. Any way, I am a saddle maker and leather artisan from John Day - a tiny town in Eastern Oregon. I make western saddles, tack, chaps and chinks, handbags and briefcases...I make a lot of stuff because it all is interesting to me... I recently started making boots - what fun! I have made two pair now, so I still need all the help I can get, but so far I enjoy it. Here is a picture of my first pair of boots. I hope you like them...

Hi, I am new to this website, so I just wanted to introduce myself. I am Clair, I make saddles and all kinds of leather stuff in my shop in John Day Oregon. This is a 3-ring binder that I made last year for Christmas, it was pretty fun. I hope you like it.
