  1. Hey Thinus, welcome and great to have someone from down south here! Since I am a newbie too, same here. Lots of stuff to go through. Thx for posting, have a great weekend!
  2. Ciao Giovanni, piacere! Io faccio le scarpe, studiato a Milano. Any question let me know! Saluti di Germania.
  3. True. But even for common home use printers they might vary max 2mm with blurry edges. Nevertheless, if you send patterns by .pdf always mention the original size dimensions on the sheet.
  4. Hi, from my experience .pdf is always 1:1 if you tick the box "original size" or "100%" when printing. What type of pattern is that (that it is bigger than a full page)? If you post a pic I might be able to help.
  5. Just got my hands on this beauty, gonna pick it up next week...a leather perforator to punch decorative holes/ patterns in shoe uppers (as used on classic "english" brogue, derby etc.). Brand name is "Ideal", late 50's I guess. Does anyone know this one or has experience/ manual on hand? There have been similar machines by Peerless, Albeko and USM.
  6. Thanks for the welcome! Don't worry, we have a backdoor where I can enter without stairs...thx god. Sure, will keep you posted!
  7. Hey folks, I'm glad I came across this site... awesome to connect with other leather enthusiasts! I am based in Germany, working in footwear industry (design/ development/ pattern making) and have set up my own little workshop with lots of vintage machinery at my basement. Looking to exchange thoughts and experiences with others, will be happy to give input and support regarding shoemaking and machinery...Cheers!
