  1. Hello, I’ve been searching this site for a sewing machine advertiser list. If I’m going to purchase a new machine, I would like to at least consider folks that are part of this website. I can see advertising banners at the top of the page one by one, but is there a condensed list of all the folks that have sewing machines to sell? I’m looking for a machine to set up and leave set up to do lighter thinner leather sewing. I have an Adler 205–370 already.
  2. I found a topic posted by user @Uwe that discussed the harness inner pressor foot for the Adler, 205–370 and the ridge on the bottom, see screen shot. It seems it is in fact for “setting” the previously made stitch, by pushing it into the leather. My discovery has been it is not useful on light leather as it leaves unsightly marks. ordered some new presser feet from HPPrecision.
  3. I’m an owner of the Adler 205-370. I am mechanically minded but very new to this machine, so keep this in mind. I just learned about bolt 14 the other night when trying to sew thinner leather. I bought the machine and it was set up to sew very thick harness leather. I discovered the machine was set to lift the presser foot to maximum height of 10 mm, which was too high and unnecessary for the projects I was currently sewing. I learned that by positioning the needle into the “almost penetrating” position and loosening bolt 14 I could use a screwdriver to hook the groove and pull slider block number 13 up all the way. This reduced the lift of the pressor foot to the minimum amount which is 5 mm which was plenty adequate for the thinner projects I was sewing. Looking at your photos you posted and the photos from the video it looks like something is out of adjustment with regards to both parts 33 and 36. You need to find the procedure to adjust and set these. I will keep a lookout and post if I find anything. chris
  4. I don’t and never have stitched up harnesses, but It seems this machine was set up to do heavy work. It had a 250 needle and 446 thread on it when I bought it I’m exploring what the machine can now do on the lighter side with a 120 needle and 135 thread.
  5. Thank you, exactly what I was looking for👍
  6. All I can think of is it pushes the previously formed stitch down into the leather to help protect it from abrasion. I see it labeled as a harness presser foot. I notice on thicker projects like a gun belt where I use heavier a heavy needle and thread, and a wider stitch length, it seems to “set” the stitch into a groove.
  7. Hello folks, amateur sewing machine operator here I believe the Adler 205 I picked up has the harness presser foot (inner and outer). The inner foot has a groove fin on the bottom that leaves unsightly marks on the lighter leather projects I have been sewing. Seems great on the heavy belts I sew with 346 poly thread, but lighter wallets with 135 poly no so much. is there a member advertiser here on this site that carry’s presser feet for this machine I can purchase. I’m having a hard time finding info online to point me in the right direction. i found a page on a Cowboy site that lists different feet, but I can’t find where I would order? See 2nd pic thank you
  8. Thank you for the link!

  11. Thanks Folks!
  12. Nice job, love the basket weave!
  13. I like to make knives and leather sheaths. This is a Loveless design drop point hunter with a 3” hollow ground blade made of 1084 carbon steel, and green micarta canvas handle scales. The sheath is veg tanned 10oz leather sheath stitched on a Randall model R with 554 polyester bonded thread. I like pronounced thick thread. I angle the belt loop to index the sheath slightly forward at the bottom on my belt to prevent it catching when sitting down. Ive been wearing it every day for the last 8 months. It’s holding up well so far
  14. Thanks for the heads up Northmount. I see I should have familiarized myself with the site more thoroughly and posted separate intro and request for information posts in their appropriate locations. Thanks for the advise.
