Made a quiver for a friend today (and yesterday). Not really based on anything; just sort of sprung out of my head. I found a green stone in my misc beads box, and set it in. I wasn't sure on how to do that, but I think it turned out ok. The only thing I didn't get a chance to do was to line it with something. I wanted to use a thick sheepswool or something, but I didn't have any.

Hey, folks. I was wondering if anyone has any information on what the quivers of Rohan's archers looked like from The Lord of the Rings. I have the movies, so I can frame through them for reference, but I figured I'd check here, too. I've found plenty of reference for Legolas's and Faramir's quivers, but I am specifically interested in building a Rohirrim quiver. I was planning on it being a back quiver, but a saddle quiver would be cool, too. Any LOTR fans out there that might be able to shine some light on the subject? Thanks!! - Lauren

Hey all; I am new to the forum and to leather work. I posted some pics of presents I made for my kids for Christmas. I still have some finishing to do but not completely sure what to do. On the satchel, I have applied carnauba cream so the finish is a little darker and looks a lot better. I still need to clean up the edges some too. Anyway, feedback and suggestions are always welcome. Thanks

I am in central North Carolina and would like to hire someone for a belt and matching hip quiver project. I have attached a few pictures of the general style of quiver I am looking for. I can have someone draw a specific design and provide that to you for production or I can collaborate with you. Whatever works with your skillset. The base color will likely be black and a secondary color, red. I'd like the back of the belt to read, In God We Trust. And you can probably tell from the attched pictures that the style is more modern vs. western or traditional. I can pay through PayPal or via check and would like to start right away. I look forward to hearing from you.

First real project. Lots of amateur mistakes, and very simple build. I'd do it again, but more skillfully; clean up all the rough spots and add more stitching, but it was a good learning process. I kinda "MacGyvered" it, (harvested the hardware from horse halters, used an old bracelet for the decoration, didn't really research the strap system, and such) so its a bit scrappy, but I think I'm still proud of it for my first project that isn't a little bracelet or just designs on paper. I just wish I had carving tools and dye. Any tips on when I make more? I have 2 more in the works. One is still on paper, and the other I have the pattern cut out, but I haven't started sewing or anything like that.

A friend of mine asked me to make him a back quiver and asked that I add a place to store extra hunting tips for his arrows. I could just make a pocket, but I was wondering if any of you folks know a better way to do it that might be better for the tips, and for the person who will be sticking their fingers into somewhere to get the tips. Also, there will be assorted tips on the arrows. I'm guessing I aught to put down something like sheepskin in the bottom of the quiver or something? The quiver I made for myself is pretty much for target practice arrows, so I didn't have to worry about hunting tips. What's the best way to go about this? Thanks, guys! - Lauren

Here are two quivers, one simple with just fringes and a tatanka - no need to translate this word if you saw Dances with Wolves, and one fully decorated with fur, horse hair, feathers and lizard skin, and an archery arm protector covering entirely the forearm for maximum protection. To draw the pattern for the arm protector was everything but easy, therefore I'll post it later on if it appears that some of you are interested once I am sure I have not lost it (searches to be done in my archives.) Photos are a bit better on my website since I was less limited concerning their size. I made a few others, but most found new owners (sold or offered) before I took any photo.

Hello again everybody! I've come straight to the source because you guys have never let me down. I've been planning on making quivers for archery, and I ran into a problem that I didn't quite see coming. I didn't anticipate th difficulties of trying to sew long stitch lines down the side of the quivers. I googled for this, but all I really found were either the lacing method or ones sewn on sewing machines. How is this possible? I wanted to make one similar to this (Image from Rasherquivers): How can you machine sew that long stitch down the center like that? I must be missing something. Experts, please chime in! Thanks!
