esantoro Report post Posted October 24, 2007 I was at home depot the other day looking to replace the thumb screw on the front base swing door on my 441/2000/4000 , as it obstructs the installation of the flatbed attachment when I need it. I couldn't find the right sized flat head screw. Might any of you know the size. My guess is a metric 3 mm. Ed
Art Report post Posted October 25, 2007 Hi Ed, That is really a function of make not clone model. Most all of them use Metric cap screws but use English set screws. If you go to a "real" hardware store, they will have a screw gauge for both metric and English. You can also lookup the parts list for the Artisan 4000R on the Artisan site as that is pretty much a 441 clone and usually lists the screw sizes. esantoro Report post Posted October 25, 2007 Thanks for the heads up on the manual. The manual says the screw is 9/64-40 L6.8. So the width is 9/64 and the length of the screw is probably 6.8mm, but does the 40 represent, threads per inch or threads per inch? Thanks, Ed
