Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted February 10, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted February 10, 2008 what is the product that i should use to act as a WHITE ANTIQUE to outline stamped letters with. Last time i did this i used White Cova , dulited with water over a resist. the background was black, and i did have to work to get the White off the black background????? Quote
Timd Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Luke, I use staining and antiquing medium I picked up at the local craft store, mixed 50/50 with acrylic paint (the 89 cents a bottle stuff). It's worked fine for me so far. Hope this helps. Tim Quote

Timd Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Sorry Freak, but I'm photographicly challenged at the moment. This stuff works just like antique or highlighter, except you can make it any color you want. Pretty cool stuff for cheap. Quote

Contributing Member Jordan Posted February 15, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted February 15, 2008 Luke, That is a real cool effect and great colors. Are those 1" letter stamps, or carved? Quote
Timd Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Ya gotta bear with me, I'm not the best photog, but here goes. Dyed with Pro-dye, a coat of Super-sheen, then white antique applied with a sable brush (only because that's what I used to mix it, no other reason) wiped off with a damp paper towel. Quote
Timd Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Wow, that looks like crap that big! lol It looks better on the bench, ya gotta believe me! Quote

Members craftsman827 Posted March 22, 2008 Members Report Posted March 22, 2008 I just came across this thread today, I use feibings neutral antique, mixed with acrilic white(cova dye etc.). Put a good coat of resist on the black, then antique as usual, but not too much antique mixture. It always worked for me. I could post a photo if necessary. Hope yhis helps. Quote
