PastorBob Report post Posted October 21, 2022 Love the motif! Nice job on adding the stamen to the center of the flower. The only thing I would change is the depth of the anther (the seeder). To me, those become the focal point of the piece. I also like the way the vine curves around the cross. I also noticed you let a blank spot on the top left border, as if the flower would overlay there. I love it when part of the carving is outside the lines, so to speak. I think it really makes them come alive.
Gezzer Report post Posted October 21, 2022 Busted ..... Yes Sir you have hit the nail on the head . I don't have a seeder but often use a very small hole punch for one , why I didn't reach for it I don't know but I grabbed a ball-end stylist and knew after the second impression it was wrong. At that point I didn't know how to fix it and continued on . And the flower pedal was SUPPOSED to extend outside , I just goofed ! Actually you and your wife were on my mind as I did this , to me the 2 flowers represent a man and his wife with the love of Christ between and binding them together . Gezzer Report post Posted October 22, 2022 Second attempt , at least I didn't use the ball end stylist . I also decided not to over run the pedal on the border .
