wintertree Report post Posted January 12, 2023 Hello Everyone...I have yet to get this new to us Adler patcher to to stitch..It simply will not pick up the bobbin thread...I have read many posts and spent considerable time trying to solve this..finding very limited info on trouble shooting this machine...We are retired saddle makers and have enjoyed 30 + years with various stitchers .....Can anyone direct me to a SERVICE manual for the Adler 30 series patchers ?...Surely past machine techs had access to such literature... Constabulary Report post Posted January 12, 2023 Are you sure you are using the right needle? The 30-7 is using a longer needle than most other Adler 30 or Singer 29K patchers. The needle system for the Adler 30-7 / 30-70 is 332L. The L in this case means LONG. shoepatcher Report post Posted January 12, 2023 Your needle bar may not be set at the correct height. You can change the needle bar height on Adler's. They have an eccentric to move the bar up and down. It is in the service manual. Look for the service manual for a 30-70. wintertree Report post Posted January 13, 2023 Still looking for a SERVICE manual for Adler Patcher (30-70)...if anyone can help...just need some proper specs to get things sorted on our new to us machine..grey square-ish adler...one of the newer ones I suspect.....very limited wear and tear noted when I looked thru the unit..everything seems tight...but was sitting idle for years...(probably needed a tune up).. would like to include it into our repair business...there are times when the long arm and swivel sewing head would be useful.. wintertree Report post Posted January 13, 2023 Thankyou Constabulary.....Pleased to say we got the patcher to start stitching this morning....still some tuning up to do....checking some of the other parts of the machine that need adjustment...I used two different colours of thread...(up and down) as sometimes it can be confusing when the upper thread gets tangled under your work pce...misses the odd stitch....but we are in the ball park... Kinda spoiled when you are used to using an original Japanese Juki 441...both of ours worked flawlessly...never needing adjustment even changing from different weights of leather or fabric...
