hello!

finally after a long trying, questioning, and online consulting got my skiving machine.

"you can buy any cheap clone machine and install there/replace a new good quality bell knife, feeding roller, and a presser foot" - these were in the majority of the advice I got.
So, this is done - "brand new" 801's clone at home with a rusty knife and stone roller. now I have a chance )

can anyone suggest a good bell knife brand?
do all machines have the same knife? (I mean size compatibility)
aliexpress offer "Made in Japan" for 801's for about £55+delivery - is it worth it?

anyone knows a reputable shop in the EU or UK where can I get a steel roller and a good knife?

advice and suggestions you could give would be much appreciated
Tony

I am looking for an inexpensive option too. I see Chinese skivers under $800. I'd love to hear anything about them.

Do not buy a knife from Aliexpress!!!!  Look at the Nippy site and they will show you the counterfeits compared to the real deal.  I bought a rubber feed wheel from Amazon for 8 bucks and a German  knife from Campbell Hausfeld in the USA.  The knife is a harder steel and keeps an edge longer.  I use machine mainly for thinner leathers for wallet making.
