Hi I recently bought a raw hide bull wip, the hide does not look like it has been cure properly if at all, when we have damp weather, which we are having a lot of lately, it gets very wet and soggy.

Qny advice  on what to try ?

I don't want to dismantle the wip as it was made by a rural farmer in Lesotho south africa.
