Hi/Moin,

I recently got into leathercrafting and now I want to make a cover for a ringbook. Making reusanle covers for Journals with flexible front and back are no problem. But the ringbook I will be making this for, has a hard back and front and the cover has to be reusable.

I am pondering ideas about how to make it so that the book can be inserted and taken out.

So far I only came up ideas which include press fastners.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Lars

If you mean ring binders ie. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Economy-Binder-Showcase/dp/B077X9NMRC/ref=sr_1_11_ffob_sspa?crid=1CDJX5DQQVL08&keywords=ring%2Bbinder&qid=1691404293&sprefix=ring%2Bbinder%2Caps%2C108&sr=8-11-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&th=1

Don't the ring binders front and back generally open almost 180 degrees? so that the front piece and the back piece could touch behind the spine? Well anyway, the two I just looked at here will, thus putting on a cover would be quite easy.

G'Day, I have almost completed a  recipe book cover, front and back for a client using 'hinged Split rings' , (google that) .They come in different sizes , I am using 32 mm .  Basically I have made   lined  hand stitched  leather covers  sightly bigger than A4  and to accommodate the holes on    A4 the pages ( provided)  , but no spine.  The client can add or remove as many pages as they want.

The pic is of a  rough diagram that I provided for the client . \

Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms.

“I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” THE DUKE!
