I am no longer a leather artisan, but have brought my Singer 111W155 out of storage (36 years in the original box) oiled it up and begun to use it again to stitch canvas for my wife's sign and banner making work.

I had a pretty bad problem with the stitching that appears to have been because the walking foot had sharp edges on it, (thank you sewing machines.com {which was contacted because of an earlier post in this forum} ).

I now would like to clean and adjust the machine, I have a copy of the manual for this and the other 111W machines.

Are there any suggestions by those who have done this job before, as to what I should do and expect when trying to do, the necessary work?

Here's part 1 of 2 for going through a Consew 206, close enough for your Singer:

“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”
- Voltaire

“Republics decline into democracies and democracies degenerate into despotisms.”
- Aristotle
