CopperWorks Report post Posted October 31, 2023 Hello everyone, I'm hoping that someone can tell me what the best type of leather would be if I were to make the same patterned bag as in the link but better. It's about 12 by 10 inch, has 2 magnet flap pockets at the front, 1 large partition in the middle that splits it up, interior lining, a gusset, about 4 zipper pockets overall, and a zipper closure. The requirements are durability, light weight and the ability to more or less hold its shape. I'm thinking maybe HORWEEN Essex, Dublin, latigo, or chromexcel in 4-5 oz? Or W&C English Bridal in same weight? I'm going to line it - should I use canvas, nylon or just cotton? I have done lots of smaller pouches but haven't done large bags before successfully so your input will be appreciated! I'm worried about the leather becoming too floppy with age, stretching out, being too floppy and needing to be reinforced during construction, and on the flip side - being too heavy/bulky/stiff. https://ibb.co/c1LD4TR
