shoemaker4 Report post Posted April 4 Recently acquired a PFAFF 238 in "ok"-ish condition that needed work. I have restored it and essentially got it running with the only problem now being the missing Stitch Regulator Knob. I ordered a generic plastic replica knob from eBay (that admittedly belongs to another family of PFAFF machines) and while it looks similar, the diameter of the bolt is a size or two smaller than what's on the 238. But even then, I could re-drill and tap the knob to fit onto the 238 if I could narrow down the proper thread size. Using metric dyes I've concluded the diameter is a M7, but am clueless on the threadsize. M7 x 0.75 and M7 x 1.0 don't seem to be able to screw past more than a few threads, so I am ruling those two out. If anyone knows where I'd be able to locate an actual replacement for the knob used on the 138/238's (that screws onto the threaded bolt itself), or the Tap/thread size of the bolt itself, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Constabulary Report post Posted April 4 I have a complete lever w. knob and all parts for the 138. Not sure if is is 1:1 with the 238. Can post a picture later
Constabulary Report post Posted April 4 (edited) This is what I have. Knob is metal no chicom plastic. 2nd pic is from a 138 parts list. Looks like I have 1 washer extra. Edited April 4 by Constabulary
