Members Kirch268 Posted May 20, 2024 Members Report Posted May 20, 2024 (edited) Hey guys! I'm new to leatherwork and definitely dove off in the deep end! I did some baby leatherwork as a kid in scouts years and years back. Forgot all about it. Then this past Christmas I was in trouble trying to find a gift for my bro. He's notoriously difficult to buy for and, as successful adults, we usually just buy whatever we want. Well I decided to make him a valet tray and went to Amazon to buy some upholstery leather. Some basic tools later and a mediocre project complete, I was hooked. Since then I've built, purchased, and put together a decent little leather shop in my basement. I've crafted and sold a few projects and learn something new with each one! I joined because I want to share them here to get some good, critical, unbiased feedback about my work! Looking forward to discussing projects with you all! Edit: How do you guys share pics? Even one picture exceeds the upload limit...? Edited May 20, 2024 by Kirch268 Quote
Members TomE Posted May 20, 2024 Members Report Posted May 20, 2024 Welcome, fellow Midwesterner. Check out the pinned posts in the Computer Help forum for tips on posting pictures. I use Photoshop for this purpose but there are free options for resizing. Quote

If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download. Quote
