Parott1 Report post Posted June 29 Hello, Does anyone know of a company that makes/sells the lube pot for the 441 with the thread wiper attachment? I found an old thread on here where someone shows a Ferdco lube pot with this attachment. I contacted cowboy and they don’t have them. Not sure if they even make these anymore? If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!
TomE Report post Posted June 29 Beiler's catalog shows a wax pot assembly (#44160) that appears to be the style in your photograph with the thread wipers. $70.00 The part is shown as a drawing not a photograph so I can't judge what it is constructed of. Call them for info and a catalog. 717-768-0174
Parott1 Report post Posted July 2 I called Beiler’s today and they don’t stock the one shown in their catalog with the thread wipers. They did have one for a union lock stitch machine, but I feel that it’s too big for the machine and would require too much customization to make it work with my machine. I reached out to a few other companies and they don’t stock the one with the thread wipers either. Even if I was able to just find the wiper attachment, I could drill a hole and tap my current lube pot. It seems like they don’t make them anymore. Do you know that there are still replacement parts available for Union Lockstitch machines? I bought about $1000 worth of parts and accessories for my last ULS from Campbell-Randall, in 2011. Why don't you contact them and ask if they have any spare threaded hollow wax stripper bolts and the drilled rubber inserts? You might get lucky and be able to order just those parts, then drill and tap a standard Cowboy lube pot. They might be able to do the whole thing in their shop if they have a compatible wax pot. Parott1 Report post Posted July 3 Thank you Wiz! I called Campbell Randall this morning and was able to order the wax pot strippers and the rubber insert. I could have purchased the ULS lube pot, but it would require welding a tab to get it to mount on the 4500. I plan on drilling and tapping my current lube pot. Everything should be here next week.
