Chain Stitch

Recommended Posts

What are your thoughts on using a speedy stitcher to sew a chain Stitch rather than a lock stitch.

It seems more practical - no need to estimate the length of the free end of the thread.

Purists might object since it is not a saddle stitch.

I am thinking of using it for purses. It reduces the difficulty of poking the needle from the inside of a bag for saddle stitching.

It is used on blue jeans and seems to be durable.

Thanks, tom

@TomMeyers If it works I can't see anything wrong with that. I think it will take bit of experience to make it easy and look nice, but so does most things.
A saddle stitch makes sense to use where it is needed due to strength. But for purses I doubt that there will be much risk at stake should a stitch fail. So I definitely think that you should go for it.
