Leather144 Report post Posted September 9 Hey guys and gals. I was hoping someone could help lead me in the right direction to get my 1541s going. I got this machine new 5 or 6 years ago. I tried a buddies and loved it so I picked one up. I have quite a few other machines but I’m having that notorious problem I’m always reading about. About ten minutes after running the machine the needle snapped. I reset the machine by pressing the button while rolling in reverse. It then continued to happen to me, so with no time to mess with it I put it to the side and I haven’t messed with it. I finally decided to pull it out today and try to get it going. I noticed the hook housing just spins and isn’t riding against the curved piece like it should……it just passes it without any contact. I will attach a pic. I’ve looked up numerous videos and went through forums and I see similar problems but not this particular problem. Would anyone know the fix for this? CowboyBob Report post Posted September 9 (edited) @Leather144, The inner basket of the hook slid out of the position finger when it jammed up(very common problem) so take the black screw out of the position finger (chrome piece) turn the inner basket so the v-shape part is @ the top & line it up so the piece of metal sticking out @ the end of the finger is in the cut-out like in the pic.And oil the inner part of the hook every hour or so,Just one drop.
