bnsmith Report post Posted October 13 (edited) New to the Singer 111G156 machine. I have been reading a lot posts. I can engage the pinion to move the eccentric adjusting the step length. Question is should the hand wheel be able to turn all the way around while engaging pinion, adjusting between largest step and zero... mine does not, the eccentric hits the side of the housing it is in , one has to turn the hand wheel in the opposite direction to get to center. Does this matter? Numbers indicating SPI are not matching as well but I think that is a fall out of this problem. bnsmith Report post Posted November 7 Sorry I just noticed the reply to this post Here are some pictures. Note I discovered in the oiling question I posted that there is a modification and this machine has a different hook saddle than usual. I suspect that would change the step mechanism adjustment. see other thread Here are some pics of the underside.

bnsmith Report post Posted November 12 Sadly no, my issue is the wheel that one spins to adjust the stitch length does not go all the way around. It may actually not be a problem as the stitch length does adjust.
Constabulary Report post Posted November 12 (edited) it is not supposed to go all the way around when you have pushed the plunger for adjusting the stitch length - you have a stop at the longest stitch @ 5SPI and then at the shortest stitch @ 32 SPI (32 SPI is a guess). It only goes all the way around when the plunger is not pushed in. Edited November 12 by Constabulary
bnsmith Report post Posted November 14 Ok. So it cannot go all the way around when adjusting the stitch length (plunger pushed). Thanks that is what I see
