From Google Translate: First of all, I apologize for the typos. I come from Finland, and English is not used every day. I bought a used juki DNU-241 H sewing machine. I tried the machine and noticed that the needle does not move when I press the pedal. Where could you start looking for a fault? Thanks in advance for the answers. It's completely pointless to ask about Finland, because the seamstresses there are such fierce competitors that they don't want to help/advise others. I think it's really stupid, but what can you do. Please use English - That is the default and expectation on LeatherWorker.net. Google Translate works fairly well, not perfect.
Northmount Report post Posted November 5, 2024 @Jassu "I tried the machine and noticed that the needle does not move when I press the pedal" Does the motor run? Does it buzz or make any noise? Does the belt slip? Can you turn the sewing machine pulley by hand with the belt off? Does the motor pulley turn easily with the belt off? Is the sewing machine seized up? You need to provide more information - tell us what you see and hear. Then we can help you. We need at least the answers to the above questions. A little video saved on YouTube to show what the machine does would be a help as well. If you test each question, and answer it to yourself, you will be able to point to the area that has a problem instead of just saying the needle doesn't move. Start with the simple stuff first: i) motor plugged in and turned on. ii) Motor doesn't spin maybe a blown fuse. iii) Motor spins belt doesn't retension belt. kgg
