Singer 111-w155 with bent shaft

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I may have an opportunity to buy a singer, 111w155 however, the owner states that at some point the machine has been dropped and they bent the pulley and he says it will require a main shaft. He states it sews well slowly but not fast… slow is fine.
I’m on a very limited budget and live in such a rural area that having someone pair like that would be difficult. But I am mechanically inclined. What do I need to watch for if I go look at the machine and that type of repair something that could be done at home? He claims to be currently using the machine.

thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer!!

I think I recall a post by @CowboyBob about straightening a bent shaft.  You can search for it or maybe he will reply here with the info.
