Members AEBL Posted March 11 Members Report Posted March 11 I was getting ... better ... at regular basket weave stamping and figured I'd try out the tri-weave stamp I acquired. That experiment was a mess. Do you guys have tips for laying out this stamp? https://tandyleather.com/products/craftool-tri-weave-stamp Quote
Members JDFred Posted Sunday at 01:23 PM Members Report Posted Sunday at 01:23 PM (edited) Tandy and George Hurst have a good video on YouTube on how to index and layout that stamp. I’m not tech savvy enough to attach links, sorry. Because of the stamp shape and the impression it makes you can’t use a reference line like you do with a basket stamp. If you look at the impression of the stamp you’ll see dots in the corners, you’ll use those to index your next stamp with the little bumps on the face of the stamp. CFM chuck123wapati Posted Sunday at 03:12 PM CFM Report Posted Sunday at 03:12 PM I've used one quite a bit. The biggest thing is to buy a good quality stamp; the cheaper ones don't line up well. Second, don't turn it when stamping. Quote
Members AEBL Posted 12 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 12 hours ago Oh thanks! I didn't see that video when I was looking around. I have a stamp very similar to the one in the video, but my burnishing isn't as good. I think getting a good stamp might be a future purchase - cheaper stamps are very frustrating to line up. I did make a point of marking a reference point on the stamp so that I can line it up the same way each time. Quote
