Members ChipinAZ Posted Thursday at 02:52 PM Members Report Posted Thursday at 02:52 PM I'm also interested in a Singer 153k103 as it will do what I want. I found one but can not seem to figure out the serial number. It looks to start with an F but think it would be an E that is faint? But if it is an EW 053383 the singer database does not list a 6 digit serial number starting with 05XXXX only 005XXX. Can you help with telling me what it really is? Quote

I split your request into a new topic. Hopefully, you will get the information you are searching for. But, as long as the machine is fully functional, who cares about the serial number or date of manufacture? I've had machines with obliterated serial numbers that worked perfectly. I've had others with clear serial numbers that were pieces of crap. Go see the machine and test run it with a piece of 8 ounce leather. Quote
Members ChipinAZ Posted Thursday at 04:24 PM Author Members Report Posted Thursday at 04:24 PM OK, It seems good. I just get a little nervous if things don't look right or make sense. I like to know what I'm buying.. They seem like a good no frills machine that will work good for me. I'll try and negotiate getting it. Quote
Members Constabulary Posted Thursday at 05:24 PM Members Report Posted Thursday at 05:24 PM The Singer serial number records are not complete I dont think anyone has a complete list. For some double digit prefix serial numbers records do not exist anymore (as it seems) EX prefix is around late 1965 so your machine for sure is a later date I think early to mid 1970´s onward and it is UK made. Members Constabulary Posted Thursday at 05:31 PM Members Report Posted Thursday at 05:31 PM (edited) however - IF it is EW 053383 then it is 1966 and Class 153K is correct as well Edited Thursday at 05:32 PM by Constabulary Quote
