Singer, 29K72 and 29K51

Found singer, sewing machines 29K 72 and 29K 51 for sale the 72 they're telling me the wheel turns not really easy the 51 she says turns a lot easier growing I've seen so far they look intact the 51 Looks like it's missing a wheel on the front 72 has a motor, but it needs new belts and it doesn't turn easy at the moment. was wondering, what a good offer I should make for them both in a package so both parties are happy.

You gotta do something with your uploaded pics - a guy needs a microscope to see anything.

I would buy the 72 - as it has the larger bobbins AFAIK --- the bobbins of the 51 are tiny - you have to check them often or run out of thread in the middle of stitching - a real bummer.

Also spare parts for the 70series Singers are easier to get from Chinesistan via ebay.com under "Singer 29K"

Your prices in the States are a lot stiffer than here in Europe - but I would start with say around $300 for the lot - you can always go up but never down on an offer once made.

And do not try to haggle over phone or Internet - do that job person to person - you will have to look at the actual state of the machines sooner or later anyway - that is the time to talk money.

Have your coin stashed in/over different pockets - a seller is severely turned off when you barter him/her down and then pull out a fat wad of bills when it comes to paying. That makes you look like a jerk. It´s like kicking him/her in the face. Absolutely needless such a move.

Something happened to these photos.  They are no longer accessible, reducing any value this thread could have.  Please re-post here.  800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate as most monitors, tablets, smart phones can't show high resolutions.  800 pixels nicely fills the screen for most devices and browsers.

Found the pics at the end of this thread :  guess I´ld start with 400$US for the pair - if you really need both of them.

Like I said - scroll to the very end of the topic (edit: on page 2 that is) and you will find a date of March 2025 and pics of both Singers that Drummer wants to buy.

They look as if they have been painted with some kind flat black paint though - no shine in the paint what so ever.
