I’m considering this 2 needle post bed machine to stitch leather rolled handles to a canvas duffle. Leather, cotton strap and leather will stack to about 5.6mm. Hoping this machine will handle that. Any input will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I have never used a post bed machine but this one wouldn't be my choice for a couple of reasons.

i) only has 7mm clearance under the presser foot and your stack is 5.6mm. I think you would need your stack plus an extra 3.2mm or 8.8 mm minimum.

ii) uses a 135 x7 needle

iii) max thread size unknown

Why not use a cylinder bed machine??

Thanks for the feedback. I’m hoping the ability to make right turns on a wheel driven post bed will give me a better and more consistent stitch line than in get on a flat bed or cylinder arm. Perhaps I just need to practice more on the cylinder arm.

PROBABLY NO LARGER THAT #138 ON TOP, #92 ON THE BOTTOM.   >Y MAY NOT HANDLE #138 ON TOP SO GO TO #92 ON TOP.
