Members FDC Posted April 9 Members Report Posted April 9 Hi All! I'm hoping that someone might be able to steer me in the right direction regarding a 62 tooth metal cleared timing belt for a Singer 51W56. The Singer part number is 234003. I am interested in the OEM style belt OR a modern alternative and source please. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris Quote

Members Tigweldor Posted April 10 Members Report Posted April 10 (edited) If you guys could give me belt width, tooth size and tooth spacing - I can research. Had to do same for aftermarket primary drive belt on my various Shovelheads - the pricing on original merchandise for a Primo primary belt drive system here in Europe will make your eyes water and yelp for a chair along with some sniffing salt Aftermarket units (without the fancy print on them) came to less than 1/2 price. As far as I can tell from other postings on this here forum, the belt has 62 teeth. Greetings Hans Edited April 10 by Tigweldor Quote

Members FDC Posted May 4 Author Members Report Posted May 4 Thanks for the poke tigweldor! Belt length: 38.75" Tooth count: 62 Tooth spacing: 5/8" Tooth width/belt width: 0.665" (not critical, blallpark will do it!) Tooth length: 0.2325" Tooth depth (metal cleat divided by 2 is 0.08375" but pulley would allow up to 0.125" I greatly appreciate your help! Let me know if there's anything else you need! Chris Quote
Members Tigweldor Posted May 5 Members Report Posted May 5 (edited) Hey, right on. Now with my research European commercial timing belts stop at around 14mm pitch, then take a big hike up to 20mm pitch -with pretty well zilch size in between. But ya gotta think outside the box. There are US outfitters of custom timing belts for compressors and what have you not in the car industry. Try give them a shout : here is a link -- https://www.pfeiferindustries.com/timing-belt-tooth-profiles-and-pitches Should they have proper profile but too wide a belt - it can be cut with a strap cutter at no real pain Should they not have what exact size you are searching for - they may connect you to a source that does. Members Tigweldor Posted May 6 Members Report Posted May 6 Here is which measurement you need when looking for a belt : Pitch -- Belt height (B) -- Tooth depth (T) shown on this page : https://www.pfeiferindustries.com/documents/Timing Belt Tooth Profiles and Pitches.pdf Greetings Hans Quote
