Members KeelInch Posted April 26 Members Report Posted April 26 Hey guys, I have recently purchased a Adler 5-27 and just have a few questions. What needles do they take as I was only given one but the previous owner had chopped a random needle down to suit? Also if anyone knows where I could find a manual for it or any other information like that it would be greatly appreciated. cheers Quote
Members Tigweldor Posted April 27 Members Report Posted April 27 (edited) They take needles 328 I can e-mail you the original manual - it is in German though and I only have it in pdf form. Covers Adler type 4 and type 5 - pretty well identical mechanics - definitely identical thread routing - except one is a flatbed - the other is a cylinder arm machine. They are very close to the Singer 45 - you can sure get a manual for those in English for free online. Greetings Hans Edited April 27 by Tigweldor Quote
Members Constabulary Posted April 27 Members Report Posted April 27 328 needles are often named as 214x1 (for fabric) or 214x2 (for leather) - same needle just a different "name". Members Tigweldor Posted April 28 Members Report Posted April 28 If you have any probs with your machine - do not hesitate to ask. Adler 4 and 5 are one of my favorite old machines - I own both versions with the "jump foot" and have bought, repaired and sold quite a few of them. Greetings Hans Quote
