Members mous3 Posted May 5 Author Members Report Posted May 5 He's a wimeraner, thanks for the compliments it's literally my first product I have made I'm finding it very hard to get straight lines across the width of the straps. The 205 is my first cyclnder arm machine and first heavy duty beast.lengyh ways the roller edge guide is invaluable Quote
Members Mulesaw Posted May 5 Members Report Posted May 5 It is a nice touch to use reflective material for the edge roll. And yes, straight lines are difficult - It can help to mark a line using a very soft pencil, that gives your eye something to follow, But if you have an edge guide that is probably even better (I haven't got one on my sewing machines). Another option that I use often is to let the side of the presser foot follow the side of whatever I am sewing. Brgds Jonas Quote
Members TomE Posted May 6 Members Report Posted May 6 (edited) Well done! I haven't gotten the hang of using an edge guide - I like to have my hands on both sides of the strap. Like Jonas, I mark the stitch line before sewing, with a pair of dividers. I try to avoid stitching across the width of a strap. If needed you can sew in a "W" pattern from one side to the other. This avoids a stitch line that is perpendicular to the pulling stress on the strap. Beautiful dog. As a boy, I went quail hunting with a fellow whose weimeraner "Blue" was so well trained. I was a novice hunter and just spent the morning watching them work together. Edited May 6 by TomE Quote
