Members Randy Cornelius Posted February 21, 2008 Members Report Posted February 21, 2008 I was brousing through the tools listed on ebay and saw some new edgers from someone who is making them out of what appears to be silverware handles? I was wondering if anyone has any information on these, I would not think that they would be of very good quality and hold an edge. They looked good / interesting. I could not figure out how to post the picture off ebay. Randy Quote
Elton Joorisity Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Randy, I know the exact edgers you mean. I was tempted to bu a set just to see what they were like. My girlfriend makes rings out of silverware handles and let me tell you some of that chinese and taiwanese stainless is TOUGH. If stainless is being used and this guy has done his homework I'd almost bet that they would be pretty good edgers. Quote
Members bcurrier Posted February 21, 2008 Members Report Posted February 21, 2008 This is one of those things where you slap your head thinking "why didn't I think of that"! So much for bolts and handles and grinding and bending and shaping ... Bill Quote

I assume you would cut and round off the blade and drill holes? Anyone know what size bit to use for each? It looks like a great idea. Quote

No, but it occurred to me after first seeing this topic that the edge tools that Woodcraft sells might also be usable. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?FamilyID=564 Bill Quote
