esantoro Report post Posted December 25, 2007 I'm thinking about adding Coats Chestnut thread (207, 277, and 346) to my stable. Does anyone else use this color and like it? Ed
esantoro Report post Posted December 26, 2007 I like Coats and realize the consensus seems to be Coats first and Eddington second, but The thread exchange has some very good prices on Eddington chestnut/brown and very reasonable shipping charges for 16 oz spools of 207, 277, and 346, which I'm eager to try. Should I just stick with Coats or give this Eddington a try? Ed
Art Report post Posted December 27, 2007 If it ain't broke Ed. You change if you don't like the look (or like the newer look) or it is giving you problems. DaBond is so darned consistent, I would never change for change's sake. Ok, I'll put in the call to ferdco tomorrow for the chestnut in 207, 277, and 346. Thanks for the nudge, ed
esantoro Report post Posted December 27, 2007 I went to place an order today with ferdco for coats chestnut poly but was told that they get their chestnut from a company called American & Efird. So now my choices are this or Eddington from The Thread Exchange. Ed
Art Report post Posted December 27, 2007 American & Efird out of Mt Holly, NC. Right down the road apiece from Andy, Opie, and Aunt Bea. I would hate to have three different cones and sizes from different manufacturers. Even The thread Exchange, though their prices are good, have 207 and 277 in Eddington, and 346 in USA Threads.
