I am looking to start a old world map project. Possibly a copy of the piri rese map or a custom treasure map.

This will be on sheep skin (chamois), what kind of ink pen would be permanent and have a fine tip for crisp lines? Once done it will be weathered and damaged to give the illusion of old age.

Newbie here, have done holster/sheath projects in the past with saddle leather. Sheep skin is a new territory for me and looking for tips.

Thanks in advance!

@hansgruber you can get paint pens with an 0.8 mm point. The paint in them can either be acrylic or oil. They are meant for detailing automobiles. I use them on my game boards. I'd use deer skin rather than sheep

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..

Sheep skin Parchment has been used as paper for centuries and still exists; you can buy it, and it would be more period correct than chamois. You can use almost anything you can put on regular paper, just do some testing for bleed out.
