Well, you want suggestions and I hate to but it is for your own good.

You have a big problem, I went back and looked at all the pictures again to be sure.

You should be ashamed of yourself for letting these go out like this!

The big problem is that these have no makers mark on them. This is nice leatherwork and you should be proud enough to mark it. Your makers mark is very important, get it on there !

sidenote: I forgot once....

That's a good idea. I should make one for my yak papers. The yaks don't travel, though.

You need a better method of dyeing the edges. They got rather sloppy. A simple method is to burn a dauber, rub off the black stuff, burn it again, rub it again, and repeat till you get a tight, compact little head on it. Better do this outside, or your house will smell like a dead animal. Use that to apply dye to the edges. It won't hang over the edge and get dye where you don't want it. Other than that, the noebooks look very nice.

There beautiful....I really like the one with the wood grain. You would make 'Spider' very happy, impressive.

Very good job on that one. You did an excellent job of everything. THat was a nice touch using the screw conchos, gives a little extra touch.

Those are sooooo beautiful. I better not let my folks see 'em or they'll want some for their horsey stuff too (Arabians). I'd only echo about the edging. My take is though that I use EdgeKote, which has a built in applicator.

Makers marks are great things, and I scold myself for not having one. I really need to get one made this year.

Casey, the main reason you could not find a makers stamp is because I did not have one when I made these. I just recently had Jeff at Grey Ghost Graphics make me one. For years I have signed my work the R hanging H but you can not see it in the photos.

Yaklady Thanks for the tip, I will try it. I have used everything from paint brushes, sponges, Q-tips, felt and etc. and have not found anything that works that good.

ATX, Butch, Madmax22 and Wildrose thanks for the nice comments.

Russ,

I have a couple maker stamps from Jeff and I'm very satisfied with them. Thinking of getting another one from him.

I just had to give you a hard time.

I think the makers mark is one of the most important stamps to have.

So when you post the next project we can see your stamp-right?
