MADMAX22 Report post Posted February 1, 2009 I dont know about tooling patterns but for over all purse designs Joanns has a huge selection of patterns for purses and grab bags. Now most of these may need some adjustments for leather use but its a start.

There is a few of them up there in the "leathercraft" section. Now, be prepared to pay anything from $15 to $75 for them depending on their uniqueness, the most I paid for one set is close to $50, I and some more people really wanted that one.I dont know about tooling patterns but for over all purse designs Joanns has a huge selection of patterns for purses and grab bags. RustyMelton Report post Posted February 4, 2009 My wife has been wanting me to make her a purse and we've had a tough time finding a pattern too. I've been thinking about taking apart one of her old purses and using it for the pattern. I'm not to sure how well it will work but I think I'm going to give it a try. Randy Cornelius Report post Posted February 4, 2009 If you can twist Bruce Johnson's arm, he is here on the forum, he can provide a book that he done on purse patterns. He may not like that I said that but it is a great book of purse patterns, I feel he should publish. If you hound him I bet he would post a couple here. What do you say Bruce? electrathon Report post Posted February 4, 2009 (edited) Bruce: You can self publish and print on your home printer. Print them only when there are orders. I will buy one if you do. Aaron Edited February 4, 2009 by electrathon

Becca4U Report post Posted February 18, 2009 I have quite a few old tooled purse patterns I found at a garage sale. Some of them are old F O Baird ones. They came on huge sized paper and were in rough shape. I had copies made of the ones that had the most deterioration. The pattern and tooling is on it but not the assembly info. I would say that I have around 25 different style and patterns. If interested, I could make copies and send to you for costs. Be warned, the big ones cost quite a bit to make copies of. Think it was around $7.00 per sheet a few years ago. Rebecca
