wadeh Report post Posted February 5, 2009 First of all I am real new to leather work, I have only done about 4 knife sheaths. I have a friend that wants me to try and make him a eyeglass case. He wanted it out of 3-4 oz leather with a lining of suede. So to put on a lining all you do is just glue in to the flesh side of the leather, correct. But then what do you do with the exposed edges, just leave them alone and try to blend them in with the other edges? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ian Report post Posted February 5, 2009 with the top edge, you will seee the suede, but with the sewn edge, you can cut the lining back 1/8 - 1/4 inch all the way along the edges to be stitched, then finish as you always do

I assume that you cut it back from the edge a bit so you won't see that layer sandwiched between the other two right? What if the liner did come out flush with the outside? Would that look just horrible? I've thought about this too, and maybe rolling the top open edge and stitching it in would give it a hem like on a pair of pants.
