Fiebings - Acrylic Resolene question

Last night I applied a coat of Resolene (the 1st time I have used this stuff) with a wool dauber (following directions on the bottle) to a black holster. This morning the holster looks all blotchy. I normally use Atom Wax and nothing like this has ever happened. I used a piece of sheeps wool on it & nothing.

What have I done wrong & can the Resolene be removed without removing the dye? If not I'm afraid the holster is ruined.

Apply some resolen to a scrap piece and try remov it with denaured alcohol if you have that. I have removed their acrylic leather sheen successfully with den. alcohol but NOT from whole pieces, just details of tooling.

I've come to really like resoline as a finish, but I've only been able to get it right if I apply it with an airbrush. I've tried sheeps wool, dauber, sponges, etc.

I'm sure it's just "operator error" on my part, but that's what I would advise . ymmv.

I use resoline in a 50/50 h2o dip. As already stated Air brushing works good too. Instead of removing the finish you could just apply another coat or two and see if it will even out.

Just recoat until it's even, using a nylon brush or an aribrush.
