TracyMoss Report post Posted March 3, 2008 No I haven't. Seems a little impractical to me. why wouldn't you just close it before you put it in the sheath. Seems like it would dull the blade or cut the sheath. Maybe you can tell me the purpose.
Drac Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I've heard those called a "redneck switchblade". if you don't have a knife you can open onehanded, it might come in handy. I'll stick to my Spyderco.
Brandon Report post Posted March 3, 2008 There is one in LC&SJ May/Jun 2000. Quick Draw Knife Sheath by J.R. Richardson I've seen a few postings on these. Was it here before the crash? Brandon
tazzmann Report post Posted March 3, 2008 PSLAC also has plans for one by Bill Churchill. He uses Chicago Screws to open and close the blade.
DCKNIVES Report post Posted March 3, 2008 Those have been around for years in various forms. I consider them pretty much flea market novelty items. Besides , it is much easier to carry a fixed blade like I do. Dave

Temporary Report post Posted March 4, 2008 You might also check the legality of such a thing in your state's law. No doubt they would land you in a world of hurt here in California.
Rayban Report post Posted March 4, 2008 I want to try making one something like this and wondered if anyone had done one before???? A friend of mine sent me one that he found on ebay, and wanted me to do one but with a bit of edge stamping on it. Pretty simple, hardest part was finding a nylon washer to insert between the Chicago screw. I just used the one he sent me as a pattern. They're popular anong Biker Buck 110 carriers.
