ktravis Report post Posted March 11, 2009 I am restoring an old(1920vintage) western saddle, and the skirts were lined with a yellow felt, 3/16" thick. Does anyone know of a source for a suitable replacement for this type felt? Thanks for any and all suggestions.
barra Report post Posted March 12, 2009 Lining saddles with felt is fairly common here in Australia where it is commonly known by the following names 1. Saddle felt. (Only by Companies who sell to the Saddlery Trade). 2. Engineering felt. 3. Industrial felt. In North America also try googling SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) felt. StolpSaddles Report post Posted March 13, 2009 You can try Brand felt. They are both in the USA as well as Canada. I use 3/4" for contoured pads
