Good Company....a poem

Recommended Posts

Good Company

My horse says where ya been Ol Pard, we ain’t ridin much these days

I think he hopes this leatherwork is just a winter phase

I read this forum every day, I guess I’m quite addicted

If leatherworkins a disease, I guess I’ve been afflicted

I read each post and view each pic, and take it in in doses

I keep hoping I’ll get better through association or osmosis

They say you rise to the company you keep, so I guess there’s hope for me

I just keep absorbing all your tips, (and copying shamelessly)

I’ve learned a Barry King maul is the one I need to get

I’ve learned to keep my knives real sharp, and keep my leather wet

I’ve learned that some can’t take advise, they get down right distressed

I’ve learned that all 3 stitchin guys think their machine is best

I’ve learned you’ll ruin finishes, if you mess with them too soon

And fingers turn a shade of blue when using vinnagaroon

There’s much more to be learnin, but I gotta get outside

I think spring has finally sprung here, and I got a horse to ride

Dually- you made my day with your poem. :)

We started LW in order to let leatherworkers learn, laugh and have fun, and I guess we must be doing something right, 'cause you folks are here, learning and laughing. God bless all you fine people who hang out here!

My gosh... you hit the nail right on the head! How'd you know I was thinking those things? I just wish I could have been that creative in expressing it. Thanks for sharing.
