Members SteveBrambley Posted March 22, 2009 Members Report Posted March 22, 2009 Any relation to one of these (Singer Class 11-38)? Quote
Members ryano Posted March 22, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 22, 2009 It is an 11-29. I just got it home a few minutes ago. It came with 1000 needles of various sizes for this machine, 1000 135x16 and 135x17 needles. 3 bobbins, 2 new feed dogs. It has a N.O.S. shuddle and race in it. It is on a new stand with a speed reducer and a 1725 1/2 hp motor. A really nice find! Quote
Members SteveBrambley Posted March 22, 2009 Members Report Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) Thought it might be a Class 11 of some sort! According to my book it is for: 'Sewing tents, tarpaulins, wagon covers and heavy tubular shaped articles in canvas.' Although that doesn't mean you can't use it for leather! Members ryano Posted March 23, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) What do these machines sell for? Really can't find any info on it. Thanks! Edited March 23, 2009 by ryano Quote
Members ryano Posted March 23, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 23, 2009 This old machine has a 1 inch lift with the hand lift lever. Not sure about the foot lift as it is not hooked up yet. It is also set up for the 7x3 and 794 needle system. Quote
Moderator Art Posted March 23, 2009 Moderator Report Posted March 23, 2009 With that Navy paint, it looked a lot bigger, you usually see them in black. Leighton's in Alberta is kind of the "expert" on those things, he will have parts also. He gets a pretty good price for a rebuilt one. Art What do these machines sell for? Really can't find any info on it. Thanks! Quote
Members ryano Posted March 23, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 23, 2009 Thanks Art. Someone painted the pore thing gray. There is black under the battleship color. Once I got the lower tension set, it sews really nice. It sews through 2 pieces of 12oz like butter and has a really great looking stitch. The flywheel is 14 inches in diameter. Wow! lol Quote
Members SteveBrambley Posted March 24, 2009 Members Report Posted March 24, 2009 You can find a manual here: http://parts.singerco.com/IPinstManuals/11.PDF and a parts list here: http://parts.singerco.com/IPpartCharts/11-29.pdf Steve Quote

You may check, That machine should take a 7 x 3 or 794 needle system. Didnt see many with a 328 needle system. Cylinder arm looks too big to take a 135 x 16 or 135 x 17 needle. get the manual at cuttersexchange.com and check the needle system. Good Stitching. - Great Find stitcher1 Quote
