Pattern adjustment for target sights

Good morning!

If you had a pattern for a particular type of gun with normal sights, how would you need to adjust that pattern to accommodate target sights on the same gun?

I have a pattern for a Ruger, but I need the pattern to fit a Ruger with target sights.

Use a dowel in molding to create a sight track. I do this on every holster I build regardless of the sights. But it especially benefits a tall front sight.

Most folks use dowel rods of some sort for their sight channels, so they have to accommodate for the width and height of the rod for taller sights. I install a rail in my dummy guns. When I need to handle a model with a taller sight, I simply install a taller sight rail and add the height difference to the stitching placement.

I just lower the top edge of the pattern so the high part of the rear sight doesn't go into the leather.
