Old Singer 17-23

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on this machine? I want it to sew belts and bullet loops!

I would be very great full, for anyone thought on it, by the way I can buy it for $100.00 but I have to drive 3 hours to get it/

Thanks Greg

No Suze, Johanna has a 153 and that is a 17. Greg needs to get a hold of John Leighton in Alberta, Ph: (403) 749-3871. John is the expert supreme at refurbing those things and can make any parts he needs.

You can find a manual for the Singer 17 classes here:

Thanks Steve, I have been there, and when you go to the second page, where it shows the machines, it says except for the 17-22, 17-23, 25, and some others. And I do thank you!! I just hope I get some good out of it? I got sucked in, when people were (and still are) claims that the 66 &99 are leather sewing machines, they will sew 3-4oz, nothing heavier!

I am still looking for advice!

Thanks ACE

Sorry about that Greg, although I downloaded that manual ages ago, I didn't really take a good look at it until after I had posted the link for you, I then spotted the "Except for" line. I guess who ever set up the manuals on the Singer site didn't either!

Steve
