Deno Report post Posted June 3, 2009 Hello to everyone. My name is Dennis Noland. My father was Gene Noland (Geno), who did a lot of leather crafting through the 60's and 70's. He did a lot of work for Tandy Leather. I did a few myself. My father passed away last year, May 8, 2008. Been thinking of getting back into the craft, though it's been awhile. I was thinking of creating some new works and dedicating them to him. By the way, glad to be here. My best to everyone.
Timd Report post Posted June 3, 2009 Hi Dennis, welcome. Be very careful around here, this place is addicting! I think I spend more time here than I do actually doing leatherwork. Where in PA are you ?

Deno Report post Posted June 5, 2009 Thought I would share the first portrait I ever did back in 1977. The design is by Al Stohlman. My father picked it out for me to do, based upon my skill level at the time. Still brings back memories. My best to all.

kevinhopkins Report post Posted June 5, 2009 Hello Deno, That picture sure brings back a lot of memories for me... I just loved that pattern pak, and carved each picture in it many times. Even got paid for most of em'! I think I've carved about everything that your dad ever had published by Tandy. At least I tried to! I appreciate that you're willing to think about contributing! Best wishes, and I really appreciate all that your dad did for the craft. Kevin Hopkins- Springfield leather co.
