Members boisdevie Posted June 12, 2009 Members Report Posted June 12, 2009 Hi, I'm a Brit living in Northern France. I'm trained as a cabinetmaker but wanted to find a hobby that I could practise in the house on those cold winter evenings without making too much of a mess and without needing too many tools. My first attempt was a knife and sheath. The knife is a Lapplander 75 that I bought as a bare blade and fitted out with a handle from spalted Sycamore. The sheath and belt mounted possibles pouch are made from 3mm veg tanned leather that I wet formed. Quote
Contributing Member Regis Posted June 12, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted June 12, 2009 Welcome boisdevie to this helpful and friendly place. Looks like you are off to a very good start. Did you dye & topcoat these? Looks pretty even. Nice. Quote
Members badger Posted June 12, 2009 Members Report Posted June 12, 2009 Welcome, Nice utilitarian stuff. Personally I love things who's form is dictated by their function. Need anything from Blighty, lemme know. Badger Quote
