wood Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Here's a few of the things I made for a booth at a Cowboy Gathering they had around here a few months ago. A cold front with lots of rain blew in the day of the show so the turnout wasn't that great, but I made enough to pay back what the booth cost and I got to meet the great Don Edwards. Anyway, here are the pics: a notebook, belts, a guitar strap, a set of spur straps and a wallhanging I made for my shop I call "Ode to Al" because it's made of patterns out of his books except for the Texas outline which I thought just added the final touch. As always critique away. Hopefully I'll be able to get out in the shop a little more sometime but it's been 108 degrees in there for the past week. Guess I really need to look into an ac. You got some good looking items there. Where was the Cowboy Gathering? Happy Tooling Tim
wood Report post Posted June 27, 2009 It was in LaGrange. It was the 1st one they had put together but it is supposed to be an annual deal from now on. Most of the vendors had came down from from Fort Worth and I don't think they were that impressed due to the rain but we hadn't had any kind of moisture in a long time so we weren't going to complain. I had I good time but I only had to drive ten minutes to the show, not three hours like some of the guys. We'll see if it gets put on again next year. I believe there is supposed to be one in Seguin maybe next March?? It was scheduled for last September? but got canceled because one of the hurricanes was supposed to be coming through so they took a break and rescheduled for next year early to get out of hurricane season. DG Leather Report post Posted June 27, 2009 you have me sold on your sillouhette style!!! thats awesome work!!! i likes... This is my favorite journal so far! I am far from liking traditional genre and cowboy style.....But these are awesome... I must add I dont mean that the genre is disliked i just come from a new school and sub culture within the americas...I appreciate all of the work done on this site in absolution and this is a prime example of ways I can be inspired from every genre....thank you for sharing!
